The year 2020 is getting worse with each passing day, and those belonging to the Journalism Industry are among the ones, most badly affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Just a day after a young & dynamic reporter of India Today group, Lucknow, Nilanshu Shukla died fighting COVID on Tuesday, another bright & active Senior journalist of PTI-Bhasha, Amrit Mohan Dubey from Lucknow, lost his life on Wednesday morning following a brief illness.
According to sources, he could not be taken to the hospital on time due to the unavailability of an ambulance. Despite repeated requests from his colleagues to the Commissioner, Collector & Chief Medical Superintendent, & consequent false assurances by the officers, not a single ambulance could be arranged anyway, two hours of relentless plea notwithstanding.
Unfortunately, Amrit succumbed to his death on his way to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deaths have left the journalists fraternity deeply saddened. Such kind of gross administrative negligence is utterly unacceptable and condemnable.
